What is Career Thinking Space?
I provide a supported space for people to think about their career development so that they can make more confident decisions throughout their working life.
Why make space specifically for career thinking?
A well-written CV and polished interview skills can undeniably help you to get a job; but time spent getting clarity on what we actually want and need from work helps us to go for the opportunities that make more sense for us, that will engage and energise us and contribute to our wellbeing. Thinking about what’s important to us, which of our strengths we really enjoy using and what our priorities are at this point in life, all helps to build an internal compass which in turn helps us navigate our way more confidently through our career journey.
How can Career Thinking Space be of use to you?
It is perfectly possible to do this career thinking on your own and there are many excellent books and podcasts out there to help but if you want a more supported effort, with someone qualified in career development, you can hire me as you career thinking partner. I’ll help you sift through your thoughts to gain clarity on direction and come up with creative ways to move forward.
About Me
I hold a Masters degree in Career Management which incorporates the QCD (Qualification in Career Development) awarded by the Career Development Institute. You’ll find me on their professional register which requires continuing professional development in areas such as vocational psychology and labour market trends as well as adherence to a professional Code of Ethics.
My approach to coaching
My studies in Career Management have explored many different approaches to understanding career navigation. Of particular interest to me is how we can take a practical, design approach to creating a working life that fits with our values and strengths and nurtures adaptability in an increasingly unpredictable world of work.
My background
I started out with a degree in Business and Marketing and have worked in corporate communication within financial services recruitment and in campaign management within the non-profit sector. Over twenty years as a military spouse with many, many relocations, has meant I have a deep understanding of the need for career adaptability and the value of getting creative in finding that next chapter in your story.
My offer to you
Since 2017, I have combined my experience from the recruitment industry, marketing and career innovation to professionally support others in developing their next career chapter.
If you’d like to have one-to-one support, you can find out about my availability by contacting me at hello@careerthinkingspace.com or using the contact page via the button below.
